Warts
Warts are benign skin lesions caused by human papilloma viruses (HPV). Warts commonly occur in children and young adults, but they can appear at any age. They can be transmitted by touch, and at sites of trauma. For example, biting nails and pressure on the plantar surface of the feet can trigger warts. They are various treatment options for warts including cryotherapy with Liquid Nitrogen, also known as “freezing.” Another treatment is Canthrone acid with occlusion for 4-6 hours. Many warts may also require some “at-home” treatment in addition to what you receive in the office.
